About Us

Who is our team?



MocoSTUDS is an FTC Team #17037 based in Rockville, MD

We are the MOCO STUDS (Super Technical Underground Design Society). Our team is community based, with high school members from Montgomery County led by Coach Alberto Lacaze. Our members attend both public and private schools including: Our Lady of Good Counsel High School, Winston Churchill High School, Quince Orchard High School, and Georgetown Preparatory High School. Our headquarters is located in Gaithersburg, MD. This is our team’s second year participating in an FTC competition, however, we have had 3 years prior competing in a different league (FLL) run by FIRST as well. Last year, our team placed third overall in Maryland, and competed at the  international FLL competition in Byblos, Lebanon. Our team is not only dedicated to nurturing our interests in STEM, but inspiring others to understand the importance of robotics in the future.
